Terrorist’s Skeletal Remains Found

WANNI: 57 DIVISION and Task Force-I troops battling in KONTHAKARANKULAM, AKKARAYANKULAM, KOVIL POINT and adjoining areas during Tuesday (18) came across the skeletal remains of a dead Tiger terrorist (dog tag 11673) from KONTHAKARANKULAM area when the troops were conducting a search.

Tiger terrorists triggered explosions of mines when the troops were making headway towards further north. A few soldiers suffered injuries following clashes in the east of AKKARAYANKULAM in the KILINOCHCHI district.

Meanwhile, fighting continued in ANDANKULAM area, WELIOYA throughout Tuesday (18). LTTE suffered heavy casualties during Tuesday’s clashes. Several soldiers sustained injuries were admitted to hospitals.

WELIOYA troops also recovered sixty anti personnel mines and four IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices) from ANDANKULAM and surrounding areas.
