Despite Stiff Resistance, Troops Fight Back in Jaffna

JAFFNA: COLUMNS of heroic troops, extending their might through the KILALY and MUHAMALE Forward Defence Lines (FDL) were battling hard to pierce the enemy barriers in the past twenty-four hours at the time this report was pasted Tuesday (18) evening. 

  Determined troops, amidst heavy LTTE artillery and mortar attacks have gone beyond the FDLs in order to face the challenges of the enemy, ground troops in JAFFNA confirmed.

  Troops were able to inflict heavy damages on the enemy during those battles. Casualties among the troops were admitted to PALALY Military Hospital and some of them were airlifted for treatment elsewhere.  

  Offensives against pockets of terrorists are still on.
